Joe Willis was the unquestioned number one option in goal for Nashville SC during his sixth season with the club, starting every match in MLS and once again commanding one of the league's best backlines.

2025 in review

With youngster Brian Schwake signing in the offseason, and the club utilizing a much more possession-based approach in the first full season under BJ Callaghan, there were questions about Willis's place in the lineup heading into the season.

That position battle never materialized. Willis played every minute of the regular season and playoffs, and while Schwake impressed in the run to the US Open Cup championship, Willis's position never felt under threat.
