NASHVILLE, TN - Five days after his 19th birthday, Matthew Corcoran became the youngest player ever to start a match for Nashville SC.

Despite the momentousness of the occasion, Corcoran was unphased, playing 90 minutes against a difficult New England Revolution team, never looking phased and certainly not playing like the youngest player on the pitch making his MLS debut.

"For me, it's just another game of football," he told media afterwards, shooting down the notion of a surreal experience. "I've grown up playing this game, and I've been lucky enough to have some experience at a young age. I don't think it's too surreal, but I'm just grateful for the opportunity to go out there and play."
