NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC forward Sam Surridge has signed a new contract with Nashville SC. The deal keeps the striker in Music City through 2027-28, with an option for 2028-29.

Surridge, 27, joined Nashville SC as a Designated Player in the summer of 2023. In 88 matches in all competitions, the former Nottingham Forest striker has scored 52 goals, including a club-record 31 goals in 2025. He scored the winning goal in the 2025 US Open Cup final, the first-ever championship trophy won by a Tennessee professional sports team.

"Ever since l arrived in Nashville, the love and support from the fans and the club have made it feel like home, and I am delighted to extend my contract," said Surridge in the club's press release. "From my debut against Club América to winning the US Open Cup last season, these memories motivate me to achieve even more and create additional history with the team. We have a special group that can achieve great things this season and in the future, and I am proud and excited to be part of the club moving forward."

The deal rewards Surridge for elite performance over the last two-and-a-half seasons, in which only Vancouver Whitecaps forward Brian White has scored more (39) than Surridge's 38 goals. He finished the 2025 MLS season with 24 goals, only behind Inter Miami's Lionel Messi and tied with LAFC's Dénis Bouanga in the Golden Boot race.

Last season, Surridge and Hany Mukhtar formed a formidable partnership, scoring 40 goals in the MLS regular season. The addition of free agent winger Cristian Espinoza looks set to further improve the Nashville attack, with the 30-year-old winger bringing elite service from the right flank. Nashville are widely viewed as an MLS Cup contender this season.

"Sam has been a key contributor to our club’s success, and pledging his future to the club demonstrates how important a figure he is to Nashville SC," said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs.  "We are excited for Sam to continue to pursue club and individual honors here with us."

Surridge was the subject of significant transfer interest this winter from several teams in England, particularly Ipswich Town FC, who are looking to bounce back to the Premier League after their relegation last season.

Surridge will again garner plenty of interest from England and Europe this summer. While he may play out the rest of his contract in Music City, it also gives Nashville leverage in negotiations and the ability to command a significant fee.
