2025 in review

Schmitt struggled to find many minutes with Nashville SC despite being one of two left backs in the squad. Players like Josh Bauer and even Wyatt Meyer were ahead of him in the pecking order.

Schmitt was perhaps a good veteran presence in the locker room, but he had no impact on the pitch. As a backup, he was expected to play a bit more and even challenge Dan Lovitz for the starting position. Safe to say that didn't happen in 2025.

Moment of the season

None.

Looking ahead

Schmitt's option was not picked up for the 2026. After spending most of 2025 as a free agent, it's likely that Schmitt would struggle to find another MLS contract.
