2025 in review

2025 was a frustrating end to an otherwise stellar career for Washington. The reliable left back was on the bench for Nashville's first 11 matches, finally getting his first start in a 1-0 US Open Cup win over Chattanooga Red Wolves.

Unfortunately, that appearance was short-lived. Washington hobbled off after just 32 minutes with what would later be diagnosed as a torn MCL. While the initial timeline was an eight-to-twelve week injury, it unfortunately cost Washington the rest of his season.

Taylor Washington on retirement and staying in Nashville: “I finally found where I belong.”
The Nashville SC original has no plans to leave the city he now calls home

Washington announced his retirement from professional soccer in October, hanging up his boots as one of the most beloved players in Nashville SC history.

Moment of the season

While Washington didn't take the field for Nashville's US Open Cup final, the 32-year-old was at the heart of the celebrations, overjoyed to lift the first piece of silverware in club history.

Looking ahead

Washington is staying in Nashville for the time being, currently enrolled in seminary and continuing his work in the community. Could a role in the Nashville front office be in his future?
