Nashville SC midfielder Alex Muyl will miss Sunday's match against New York City FC after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis City.
The midfielder came off the bench in the 62nd minute with Nashville in a 3-0 deficit. He flicked the ball into the back of the net, but the goal was pulled back after an off-ball scuffle between Teal Bunbury and Jaziel Orozco.
Alex Muyl scores, but it's called back for a foul on Bunbury?

Really weird call from the ref and VAR didn't step in for some reason. That seems like an extremely harsh call to deny a goal.#EveryoneN
Deep into second-half stoppage time, Muyl picked up a yellow for an excessive shove in the back of Orozco with the ball on its way out of play. It was a rather needless way to pick up a suspension.

Muyl has been a constant in Nashville's lineup this year, leading the team with 30 appearances and making 24 starts, the fifth-most on the roster. While Tyler Boyd is close to making a return from a torn ACL, he almost certainly won't be ready to start. One of Jacob Shaffelburg or Ahmed Qasem will likely start opposite Jonny Pérez.
