NASHVILLE, TN – On Monday, Nashville SC announced that head coach BJ Callaghan has signed a contract extension with the club through the 2028-29 MLS season.
Signed as Nashville's second-ever head coach in 2024, Callaghan lead Nashville to their most successful season in club history in 2025. In addition to setting club records for wins (22), MLS wins (17), and goals scored (75), Nashville won the 2025 US Open Cup, the first trophy won by the club and the first championship trophy ever lifted by a Tennessee professional sports team.
"I'm grateful to John [Ingram], Ian [Ayre], Mike [Jacobs] for first, the opportunity to come here, and now the opportunity to stay here," said Callaghan. "The other thing I'm really grateful for is the people that I get to work with and alongside. The players, the staff, the coaches. For me, it's really easy to come to work at Nashville SC. The city's a great place to live, the club is a great place to work, the players are great to work with, the staff and everything. So for me, when you wake up and beat Mike here every morning, it's because I'm excited to do it."
Heading into 2026, Nashville are expected to be one of the top teams in MLS and compete for MLS Cup with a revamped side, built on the new principles and foundation brought in by Callaghan.
They'll kick off their 2026 campaign on Tuesday night, facing off against Atlético Ottawa in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
