On Wednesday, Nashville SC advanced to the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals, knocking out Inter Miami and Lionel Messi with a 1-1 draw in Ft. Lauderdale. Cristian Espinoza's 74th-minute strike made the difference for the 'Yotes, giving them a series-winning away goal.

The result was massive for Nashville. It was also a historic moment for goalkeeper Brian Schwake. The 24-year-old served as Joe Willis's backup last season in MLS play, but started every match of Nashville's run to winning the US Open Cup.

Now the full-time starter for the 'Yotes, Schwake has played every minute of every match this season, with Nashville going unbeaten in their first seven matches of the year.

With Nashville's draw against Miami on Wednesday night, Schwake has claimed the best-ever record for an MLS goalkeeper in their first 13 matches, the only goalkeeper to not lose one of their first 13 matches. He passes Jorge Campos, who went unbeaten in his first 12 starts with the LA Galaxy in 1996, MLS's debut season.

Schwake will get a chance to extend his unbeaten run on Saturday, when Nashville host Orlando City. The Lions are currently in 13th place in MLS's Eastern Conference, with one win and three losses from their opening four matches. They've only played one match on the road this year, a 5-0 loss to New York City FC.
