The 17-year-old center back became the first Nashville SC homegrown player ever to start a match for the club when head coach BJ Callaghan named his team against Chattanooga Red Wolves in the US Open Cup Round of 32.

Applewhite signed a homegrown contract with Nashville ahead of the 2025 season. The Maryland native made his MLS debut in Seattle earlier this season, becoming the youngest player ever to appear for Nashville and just the second player to progress from the academy to a first-team appearance.
