NASHVILLE, TN – On Monday, Nashville SC announced that defender Jeisson Palacios has signed a new contract through the 2027-28 season with an option for 2028-29.
Palacios, 31, joined Nashville last year from América de Cali in Colombia, initially signing through the 2026 season. Palacios quickly became a key member of Nashville's backline, making 28 appearances (27 starts) in all competitions and adding two goals and two assists.
“I am very happy to sign my extension, and I am thankful for the opportunity and all the fans who have supported me during my time here,” said Palacios in the club's press release. “My family and I love Nashville, and God willing I can continue bringing success to the club and city.”
Emerging as one of the better defenders in MLS, Palacios has the speed and athleticism to play a high back line, and his ability to carry the ball forward through pressure allowed Nashville to be even more aggressive in their buildup.
“Jeisson’s impact was felt immediately upon his insertion into our group last season, and we are excited about seeing his role continue to grow in 2026 and beyond,” said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs.
