Huntsville City FC are playoff-bound for the first time in club history.

The Rocket Men took down Orlando City B at Osceola Heritage Park on Sunday night, with Nashville SC's Maximus Ekk scoring an 80th-minute winner

Huntsville currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference in their first full season under head coach Chris O'Neal. With just two matches left to play in the regular season, they've already set club records for points (46), goals (49), and wins (12).

2025 marks a drastic improvement after 2024's struggles. Last year, Huntsville finished in 14th place in the East, earning just 29 points and crippled by a porous defense that allowed 53 goals. They've seen a dramatic improvement this year, with 46 points already in the bag and conceding only 31 times, the second-best defensive mark in MLS NEXT Pro.

Led by standouts attacking Alan Carleton (11 goals, 6 assists) and Christian Koffi (10 goals, 5 assists), and with a spine built around midfielders Philip Mayaka, Ethan O'Brien and Pep Casas and the stalwart center back pairing of Zach Barrett and Kevin Carmichael, Huntsville have been formidable this season.

They'll continue to push for positioning in their final two matches - both at Joe Davis Stadium - against Inter Miami CF II (September 28) and Carolina Core (October 5) before kicking off the first playoff campaign in club history.
