Ahhh, summer. Students are out of school, the southern humidity is enveloping us like a damp, weighted blanket, and soccer writers desperately seek content during the June international break. We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the 2025 Nashville SC season.
This midseason milestone is a perfect time to start a new tradition at SixOneFive Soccer: holding ourselves accountable for the bold, brilliant, and occasionally baffling predictions we made back in February.

Accountability is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy, a functioning locker room, and, most importantly, a self-aware soccer website. So, I am putting our prognostications to the test. But this isn’t your standard, boring review. Oh no. I’ve devised a scoring system with a uniquely SixOneFive Soccer twist. Like the Boys in Gold on the pitch, each of our preseason predictions can earn one of three results, a system I am calling the "Wright-o-Meter"™.
- 3 points for a "Ben [WRIGHT]": A prediction that was so good, so accurate, it deserves an impassioned singing of Never Give Up On You from the supporters.
- 1 point for a "Draw": We weren't entirely wrong, but we weren't exactly right either. A respectable, hard-fought point for being in the ballpark.
- 0 points for a "Ben [WRONG]": A complete whiff. A swing and a miss so comical it deserves to be memorialized much like a Ben Wright penalty kick attempt.
So, grab a drink, settle in, and get ready to see whose predictions have been as sharp as a Sam Surridge finish and whose have left them conceding an own goal.
What defines success in 2025?
- Ben Wright: Having fun again. Also playoffs.
- Chris Ivey: Getting an automatic playoff spot.
- Christina Moore: More goals scored than conceded, and no fan mass exodus in the second half at home.
- Clay Trainum: Playoffs, no play-in.
- Jeff Remlinger: Fans regain their confidence in Nashville’s plan and in the new young players.
- Johel Maza: Making the playoffs without the play-in round.
- Omari Jackson: Getting to the final rounds of Open Cup and making the playoffs.
- Ronan Briscoe: Top seven in the East, and above a 50% win percentage at home.
- Stephen Robinson: Gotta make playoffs. An Open Cup run would be great.
- Valair Shabilla: Top seven in the Eastern Conference.
Midseason Verdict: The markers for a successful season remain unchanged. We were all floating around the same benchmarks, and Nashville is well on their way to reaching these goals.
