Nashville SC have added midfielder Alan Carleton to their match roster against DC United. The 20-year-old was signed by Huntsville City FC, their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, ahead of the 2025 season. This is his first short-term call up this season.

Carleton has been one of Hunstville's standout players. Primarily a No. 10, but able to play wide or in a deeper midfield role, he's logged four goals and four assists for Huntsville in 11 appearances.

Per MLS rules, clubs can sign players aged 25 and under from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to short term agreements during the season. These contracts can be no longer than four days, and a player may only be called up four times per season. The player can only appear on four match-day rosters and can only play in two matches. Anything more would require being signed to a first-team contract. For external competitions, such as the US Open Cup, there are no limits on the number of short-term callups.

Huntsville midfielder Ethan O'Brien was called up for Nashville's first two league matches, with Gastón Brugman, Bryan Acosta and Patrick Yazbek injured. O'Brien and Christian Koffi were also part of the squad for Nashville's US Open Cup win over Orlando City, with O'Brien coming off the bench in the second half.
