Nashville SC sign defender Chris Applewhite to homegrown contract

NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC announced on Wednesday that defender Chris Applewhite has been signed to a homegrown contract through 2027, with club options for 2028 and 2029.

Applewhite, 17, joined Nashville's U17 side in 2022 as a 15-year-old, originally from Waldorf, Maryland. He broke into the Huntsville City FC side at the MLS NEXT Pro level last year, making 20 appearances in the 2024 season and leading the club in minutes played for all center backs.

“I am extremely grateful to sign my first professional contract with Nashville SC. I couldn’t have reached this point without God, my family, my coaches, and my teammates, and I am excited to be a part of this club.”
