Nashville SC to host Premier League club Aston Villa at Geodis Park

NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC will host Premier League club Aston Villa in a friendly at Geodis Park on August 2, the club announced on Thursday.

Based in Birmingham, England, Aston Villa are one of the oldest clubs in England. Founded in 1874, they've won the English first division seven times, as well as winning seven FA Cups and a European Cup.

They're currently in seventh place in the English Premier League, and competed in the UEFA Champions League for the first time as a club, falling 5-4 to eventual finalists Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals.

“Aston Villa have a rich history in English football,” said Nashville SC Vice Chairman Ian Ayre in the club's announcement. “As seven-time league champions and former European cup winners, they have shown an impressive rate of consistency as well as progress in recent years under head coach Unai Emery. This game provides a unique and exciting opportunity to see the first Premier League team at GEODIS Park and a chance to see a very strong Villa squad, alongside any new summer signings, as they prepare for their 2025-2026 Premier League campaign.”

The match will will take place on a rare weekend without an MLS match for Nashville SC, falling in between two MLS road matches for Nashville. They'll return from a match against San Diego FC on July 25 to play Villa, playing St. Louis City SC on August 9.

Season ticket holders will have the first right to purchase their tickets for the match before they go on sale to the general public beginning on May 8. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on May 16.
