Nashville SC have learned their opponent in the US Open Cup final. The Boys In Gold will play Austin FC for the right to lift the trophy, with the match set for Wednesday, October 1 at Austin's Q2 Stadium.

Austin FC advance to the final with a 2-1 win over Minnesota United on Wednesday night, scoring the winner in the 120th minute. Verde also beat USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive in Round 4 before taking down Houston Dynamo in Round of 16 and squeezing by San Jose Earthquakes in penalty kicks.

Nashville and Austin have met four times. Nashville lead the series with two wins, while Austin have a win and a draw. Their most recent meeting was a 2-0 Austin win at Geodis Park, which was coincidentally BJ Callaghan's first MLS match as Nashville's head coach.
