Nashville SC's Hany Mukhtar named to MLS Team of the Matchday

Nashville SC midfielder Hany Mukhtar was named to the MLS Team of Matchday 28 after scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC. The goals were Mukhtar's 99th and 100th in MLS play, making him just the 16th player in league history to reach a century of goals.

Mukhtar opened the scoring in the 16th minute, finishing off a well-worked team move into an open goal, after Cristian Espinoza set him up with his team-leading 15th assist of the year.

The German hit his 100th MLS goal just before halftime, controlling a difficult pass from Sam Surridge before rifling a shot into the bottom corner, giving Toronto goalkeeper Luka Gavran (who made the bench with a stellar nine-save performance) no chance.

Mukhtar leads Nashville with six Team of the Matchday nods in 2026. He also leads the team in MLS goal contributions; with 13 goals and seven assists, it's another elite season from the captain.
