NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC and Andy Nájar have agreed to a new contract, sources confirm to SixOneFive Soccer. First reported by Tom Bogert, the deal is for 2026 with a further option for 2027.

Nájar, 32, was signed by Nashville in the winter. The former DC United and LAFC defender had spent the bulk of his career in Belgium with Anderlecht, where he made over 160 appearances and played in the UEFA Champions League.

With Nashville, Nájar has been arguably the best right back in MLS. Named to the MLS All-Star team for the first time, his 10 assists are second only to Hany Mukhtar among Nashville players, and tied with Philadelphia’s Kai Wagner for the most by a defender in MLS this year. He’s also added two goals and consistently been a crucial piece of Nashville’s attack, which has been focused heavily on Nájar’s combination with Mukhtar in buildup.

With a guaranteed compensation package of $280,000 in 2025, Nájar is only the 17th-highest paid player on Nashville’s roster. His contract was up at the end of 2025, with Nashville holding a club option.

Nájar’s new contract will increase to reflect his performance on the pitch, giving him longer-term stability and allowing Nashville to keep on of their most valuable players for another two seasons.
