NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC have finalized a deal to sign striker Warren Madrigal, sources have confirmed to SixOneFive Soccer. First reported by Kevin Jiménez, Madrigal signs through 2028-29 season with a club option for 2029-30.

Madrigal, 21, is a product of Costa Rican powerhouse Saprissa and a regular for the Costa Rica national team, where he's scored six times in 26 international matches.

After coming through the Saprissa academy, he debuted for the senior team in 2023. In 100 appearances in all competitions, he's bagged 19 goals and nine assists, spurring a loan move to Valencia in Spain's La Liga. He only made a single appearance for Valencia in the Copa Del Rey, but scored eight times in 18 matches for their reserve side.

A broken fibula suffered with Costa Rica at the 2025 Gold Cup kept him out for much of the fall, getting back on the pitch in late November. Since his recovery, Madrigal made seven appearances for Saprissa, scoring one goal.

Capable of playing both as a center forward or on either flank, Madrigal is a flexible attacker who looks like an ideal fit for Nashville's squad. He's a consistent goal-scoring threat capable of backing up Sam Surridge at the No. 9 position, while also pushing the wide attackers for starting minutes. With Jacob Shaffelburg's trade to LAFC, there are more minutes up for grabs on the wings.

UPDATED DECEMBER 31, 11:02 am CT: Nashville SC officially announced the signing on Wednesday, with Madrigal confirmed to take an international roster slot.

“Warren is a dynamic attacking player who can create and finish scoring chances at a high level, and we look forward to having him with our group in 2026,” said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs in the club's press release.

Nashville SC officially sign forward Warren Madrigal to a three-year deal, with a club option for 2029-30. Madrigal played over 100 times for powerhouse Saprissa in the Costa Rican top division, with six goals for the national team in 26 appearances.
