Nashville SC keep rolling in a packed May calendar. After a 2-1 win over Charlotte FC on Saturday, they're taking on the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday at Geodis Park. The Red Bulls are coming off a dominant 7-0 win against the LA Galaxy, a rematch of last season's MLS Cup.
For the latest on the Red Bulls, a side who Nashville have never beaten, we chatted with Mark Fishkin, who has covered the club since 2010 with Seeing Red.
Ben Wright (SixOneFive Soccer): It feels like things have been up and down for the Red Bulls this year. How would you summarize their season since playing Nashville back in week two?
Mark Fishkin (Seeing Red): The season has been mostly a continuation of the results we saw in 2024, pre-playoff run. New York has played to the level of the opponents for the most part during a stretch of unheralded opponents (wins against Toronto, Montreal, LA Galaxy) and some tough losses (DC at home, a 4-1 smackdown at Miami). There was a pair of draws against Orlando and win against Chicago.
The 7-0 win over the LA Galaxy last weekend ("the white wedding") notwithstanding, it's just been a meh of an early third of the season.
