Gold around the world: How Nashville SC's internationals fared

A quick roundup of how Nashville SC players performed on international duty

The September and October FIFA international window is over, and Nashville SC are back in action this weekend.

This break was one of the longest in history, combining the typical September and October windows into one long window, with many clubs playing four games in total. This also marks the final time Major League Soccer will play through an international break, as the league shifts to a fall-to-spring calendar next year.

Here's a quick look at how every Nashville player fared during the break.

Xavier Valdez

Xavier Valdez played every minute for the Dominican Republic this window, with his side finishing in third place in their Concacaf Nations League qualifying group.

Valdez made two saves in a 3-2 win over Nicaragua and five saves in a 2-1 win over Trinidad & Tobago. In a 4-1 loss to Haiti, the 'keeper played much better than the scoreline indicated, blocking seven shots – including a penalty kick – to keep things from getting even worse for a porous defense.

He capped off his window with a 2-1 win over Nicaragua, not making a save against a team who scored with their single shot on target.

Patrick Yazbek

Patrick Yazbek returned to the Australia national team after missing the World Cup with injury, but was frustratingly uninvolved after making a trip to the other side of the planet.

The Nashville SC midfielder came on in 90th minute of 1-1 draw with Brazil on September 25, and four days later came on in the 88th minute of a 4-2 loss, also to Brazil. In total, Yazbek played 13 minutes during the break.

Ahmed Qasem

Ahmed Qasem was part of an Iraq team that failed to get out of their group at the 2026 Gulf Cup, finishing third on tiebreakers behind Oman.

Qasem was an unused substitute in Iraq's opening match, a1-1 draw with Oman. He started and played 75 minutes in 3-2 win over Kuwait on September 26, playing 77 minutes in a 2-0 loss to Saudi Arabia three days later.

Brian Schwake

Brian Schwake made his international debut for the United States, coming off the bench at halftime in a 4-2 win over Chile on September 29 after being an unused substitute against Peru.

He didn't play in a 3-0 win over Mexico, but played the full 90 minutes against Canada on October 6, making three saves and keeping the first clean sheet of his international career. Ahead of November's Concacaf Nations League matches against Haiti, he made a real claim for the USMNT's starting job.

Famara Camara

21-year-old midfielder Famara Camara was a surprise call-up to Senegal's U23 squad, giving him much-needed minutes while also pulling him away from a potential chance to see minutes in a shorthanded Nashville midfield.

Full details are not readily available, but Camara played in both of Senegal's matches against Gambia's U23 team. He'll look to earn a spot in Senegal's squad for their upcoming U23 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Sudan in the November window.
