Nashville SC Designated Players Walker Zimmerman and Hany Mukhtar were voted into the 2023 MLS All-Star team, the team and league announced on Tuesday. It marks Zimmerman’s fourth MLS All-Star selection and Mukhtar’s second.

Mukhtar’s 20 goal contributions lead MLS. He also sits atop the Golden Boot race and is seen as the front-runner to make history as the first back-to-back MVP award winner.
For Zimmerman, he again makes the All-Star team despite the start-and-stop nature of his 2023 season thus far. Having missed multiple matches due to injury and national team duty, Zimmerman may not have had as strong a case as in years past. However, Zimmerman has provided his usual dominant defensive displays when on the field. This year, Zimmerman took over full-time captain duties for Nashville SC, signaling his importance as a leader for the team.
The MLS All-Star team will take on Arsenal of the English Premier League on July 19 at D.C. United’s Audi Field.
