The United States Soccer Federation has proposed 14 host venues in their bid for the 2031 FIFA Women's World Cup, which would see them co-host the tournament along with Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. Nashville's Geodis Park is among the planned venues.

The joint US-Mexico-Costa Rica-Jamaica bid is the sole contender for the 2031 World Cup, with the United Kingdom the only bidder for the 2035 World Cup. FIFA will formally announce the hosts on April 30.

The proposal lists 14 planned venues in the United States, with 26 additional stadiums listed as alternate venues.

Proposed stadiums

  • Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, MO – Kansas City Chiefs)
  • AT&T Stadium (Arlington, TX – Dallas Cowboys)
  • Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, NC – Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC)
  • Camping World Stadium (Orlando, FL)
  • Empower Field (Denver, CO – Denver Broncos)
  • Geodis Park (Nashville, TN – Nashville SC)

  • SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, CA – Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers)
  • Snapdragon Stadium (San Diego, CA – San Diego FC, San Diego Wave, San Diego State Aztecs)

Geodis Park

The 30,109-seat venue was opened in 2022 in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. It is the home stadium of Major League Soccer's Nashville Sc.

Since its debut, Geodis Park has hosted nine international matches. In addition to three games at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Geodis has hosted two US Men's National Team matches, most recently an international friendly against Switzerland in June 2025. Mexico and South Korea played to a 2-2 draw in September 2025.

Geodis has also been the site of three SheBelieves Cup matches, with the US women defeating Japan (2023) and Iceland (2024) in Nashville, as well as a 2-0 win from Canada over Brazil.

Could Nashville get a women's team?

Nashville has consistently been listed as a city for a potential National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team. The city was a finalist for one of two expansion teams that would have begun play in 2026, but Boston and Cincinnati eventually won the bids.

Nashville's bid received support from Nashville SC and mayor Freddie O'Connell, with Geodis Park a potential venue for the team.

Atlanta's NWSL team will begin play in 2027, and the league is expected to add an 18th team in 2028. As NWSL continues to expand, Nashville will certainly be considered as a potential option.
