Nashville SC were handed their first loss since April, falling 2-1 to Inter Miami. It wasn't all doom and gloom for the Boys in Gold; some players were still able to show their quality despite the result.

Joe Willis - 4.0
Joe Willis switched focus for a moment and the ball was in the back of the net before he blinked. Unfortunately, that's the life of a goalkeeper. Their mistakes often results in goals. Up to that point he was having a good game, and saved a couple of good chances in the first half.

Goal, Messi 2-1 NSH A bad pass from Willis to gift Messi his brace. He has been great all season, really unfortunate, but you can't make mistakes like this at this level. #EveryoneN

Dan Lovitz - 7.0
The left back was limited going forward, but took care of his defensive duties for the most part.

Jack Maher - 6.5
A solid performance by Jack Maher. He and Jeisson Palacios had some scary moments in the first half, but they tightened things in the second. He made a smart decision to take a yellow during a late Miami counter, possibly preventing a goal.

Jeisson Palacios - 7.0
The Colombian gets a bit of bump for his recovery speed and positioning. He was there to collect a lot of potentially dangerous balls from Miami.

Andy Najar - 8.0
The All-Star led the team in pretty much every dribbling category and progressive passes. He is a vital part of Nashville's build-up play. At times that comes at a defensive cost, but considering the outcomes, that is a risk worth taking. Also, that assist was beautiful.

Patrick Yazbek - 6.0
He rotated the ball well, intervened defensively when necessary and covered a lot of ground.

Eddi Tagseth - 6.0
Eddi Tagseth continues to be the engine room for this side, but was limited in progressing the ball as much as he would like. He committed a couple of unnecessary fouls, the most prominent on the free kick that lead to the opening goal.

Jacob Shaffelburg - 5.0
Nashville didn't lose this game because of Jacob Shaffelburg, but I am also struggling to see Nashville SC 2.0 win games because of Shaffelburg. He seemed a bit aimless out there and went down too easily on multiple occasions, taking too many touches in the final third on multiple occasions. The injury substitution was an unfortunate way to end his night.

Ahmed Qasem - 6.0
Some moments of brilliance in build-up play and attacking third, but overall, he has taken a step back. He's often a victim of his calm body language and demeanor, but he still has time to grow and develop.

Hany Mukhtar - 7.5
The former MVP almost bailed Nashville out of a bad situation, something he has been accustomed to since moving to Music City. Overall he didn't have as big of an impact on the game as he wanted, but still scored Nashville's only goal.

Sam Surridge - 6.0
It's hard to knock a striker when the creativity behind him is lacking. He was limited to 16 touches all game and could've done better on a couple of half chances.

Substitutes
Alex Muyl - 6.5
Played about half the minutes Shaffelburg did and almost doubled his touches. They are two different players, but when the space isn't there, Alex Muyl continues to be an important player for this team.

Walker Zimmerman - 6.0
Nashville's captain is being reintegrated into the squad and it looks like he will be starting matches very soon.

Gaston Brugman - 6.5
The Uruguayan had a good cameo and was able to help creatively on multiple occasions. Perhaps a role off the bench is more appropriate.

Julian Gaines - N/A
A positive sign for Julian Gaines, who was finally able to play after his injury.

Interesting shift from BJ Callaghan. Julian Gaines comes on to play right back, and Andy Nájar pushes forward into a more advanced role.

Feels like there’s another goal in this. Could break for either team.
Matthew Corcoran - N/A
Similar to Gaines, Matthew Corcoran will benefit from the game experience.

Manager
BJ Callaghan - 6.5
You can see BJ Callaghan's vision starting Shaffelburg assuming there will be space in behind. Hindsight is 20/20, and perhaps his reading was a bit off. His substitutions helped, but couldn't generate a goal.
