Nashville SC return to Geodis Park on Wednesday to face Inter Miami in the CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16. Both teams won their last match: Nashville defeated Minnesota United 3-1 at home, while Miami won 2-1 away to DC United.

This marks the 20th matchup between the two sides, making Inter Miami Nashville's most frequent opponent. The Boys in Gold have played against the Herons in MLS regular season, CONCACAF Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, the U.S. Open Cup, and MLS Playoffs.

Lionel Messi and co. will be heading to a familiar ground, Geodis Park. Last season, the two teams faced each other five times, four of which were consecutive, and two were in Nashville's home. Geodis Park is also where Messi won his first trophy with Inter Miami, the 2023 Leagues Cup.

Here's what you need to know heading into the game.

Miami snapshot

The MLS title holders seem to have gotten even stronger in the offseason, adding MLS goalkeeper of the year Dayne St. Clair, DP striker German Berterame and standout center back Micael. All in addition to finalizing the deals for Tadeo Allende and Sergio Reguilón.

Saying Miami had a perfect offseason might be an understatement. They plugged all the obvious holes and got stronger by adding youthful options.
