Preview: Nashville SC vs Chicago Fire

After a difficult loss in Seattle, the Coyotes are back at Geodis Park looking for a bounce-back win

Nashville SC are back at Geodis Park tomorrow. After last weekend's concerning performance in Seattle, they're looking to get back on track against the Chicago Fire.

The Fire are in a remarkably similar position to Nashville. With the hire of Gregg Berhalter in a dual head coach and general manager role, both Nashville and Chicago have turned to former US Men's National team coaches to try and rebuild struggling clubs. BJ Callaghan served under Berhalter for five years as an assistant, and the two remain close.

The two clubs have had eerily similar starts to the season, too. Both had a loss and a draw in their first two matches, followed by three consecutive wins and coming down to earth a bit in the last four matches. Just a single point separates the two clubs, who will likely be fighting for similar playoff spots towards the end of the year. It's early in the season to call this match a six-pointer, but a win here is crucial for both clubs.

Chicago Fire snapshot

The Chicago Fire have struggled for consistency so far under Gregg Berhalter. Their attacking play has certainly improved, with striker Hugo Cuypers's six goals already exemplifying that. New Designated Player Jonathan Bamba has also flourished, logging five assists so far this season and forming a crucial piece of their front three.
