Since their debut season as a professional club in 2018, Nashville SC have worn a lot of kits. 12, to be exact. Some good, some bad, some in between.
Nashville's will release a new home kit later this offseason, the fourth they've worn since joining MLS in 2020. Ahead of the new kit, we're taking time for some nostalgia.
Here at SixOneFive Soccer, our staff voted on every kit in Nashville SC's history from worst to best. Check our rankings out here, and let us know in the comments what your favorite shirts are!
Honorable mention: Nashville FC (NPSL)

Before debuting in the USL as a fully professional club, Nashville FC was a fan-owned, amateur club playing in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Before eventually being sold to the ownership group that took the club into the USL Championship (and eventually MLS), NFC rocked their distinctive yell0w-and-white striped home kits, a look that many fans have wanted to see return in a throwback tribute.

With MLS leaning into nostalgia for all their 2020 kit releases, Nashville's debut away shirt featured the iconic adidas three stripes on the right shoulder, but was otherwise a generic and rather forgettable shirt.
Fittingly, it was only in use for one year, cycled out before the 2021 season.

Nashville's first-ever away kit started the tradition of gold at home, dark blue on the road. It was a perfectly fine kit and looked great on the field, but wasn't particularly memorable.

Nashville took the 2018 away kit and did the exact same thing, just in gold. Again, a fine kit that looked great on the field, but it was certainly a downgrade from their 2018 pro debut shirt.

Nashville's debut kit in MLS certainly saw its fair share of memorable moments, and holds an outsized place in the memory of many fans. It wasn't one of the more daring options on this list, a pretty plain shirt without many noteworthy features. On the plus side, though, the simplicity means that it aged really well.

Nashville SC's most recent home kit drew mixed opinions from our staff. Aside from a horizontal blue stripe across the chest, there isn't a ton to make this shirt particularly interesting.
However, the use of blue shorts for the first time ever was a major win, with fans calling for this look since before Nashville's MLS debut. It should absolutely continue to be the default going forward.
Arguably the most creative feature Nashville have ever used on a kit also came with this shirt. Fans had the option to customize this shirt with specially-designed patches representing the major neighborhoods, with players representing their neighborhoods for a special season-opening match.

Nashville's current away kit lands just below the mid-way point in our rankings. It's one of the more template-y kits Nashville have had, but the gold accents give the shirt a more interesting look.
There's also the simple fact that Nashville won the US Open Cup, their first ever trophy, wearing this shirt. That kicks it up several spots in the rankings.
6 – 2021-22 away kit

Nashville's second away shirt in MLS was quietly one of the more interesting options they've had. At first glance it may look like a plain dark blue shirt, but the subtle "N" vectored across the front of the shirt elevates this and makes it one of the better away shirts they've ever had.

Nashville SC's final away kit of the USL era remains one of their most popular. The all-white kit was incredibly simple, but the metallic gold detailing made it a significant departure from their typical look, and a unique – if niche – entry on this list.
4 – 2022-23 home kit

Released to commemorate the opening of Geodis Park, Nashville's 2022-23 home shirt was one of their best. From the stadium jock tag to the sound-wave design on the side panel, this shirt was an instant classic. It was also bolstered by some of Nashville's best moments on the pitch to date, including their run to the 2023 Leagues Cup final.

Nashville's debut kit as a professional club certainly has the nostalgia factor going for it, but it's also just a great looking kit, with the white sleeves bringing an instantly classic look to the shirt.

The first-ever third kit in Nashville history is easily one of the bets. Featuring a very different white-and-blue colorway including their denim-inspired "jorts", and the alternate "N" wordmark instead of the full crest, this is a fantastic kit, and one of their very best.
1 – 2023-24 "Man In Black" away kit

Is anyone surprised to see the Man In Black kit at the top? Nashville's collaboration with the Johnny Cash estate was one of the most popular kits in MLS during its run, and remains one of the most unique and bold choices they've ever made from a design standpoint.
All black with silver accents and a Johnny Cash jock tag, this kit was a home run. Factor in memorable moments like the fever dream penalty shootout win over Club América, and this shirt hit instant legend status.
