Nashville SC lost their first match of 2025, falling 2-0 to New York Red Bulls on Saturday night. Their young midfield was unable to cope with the Red Bulls' press in the first 15 minutes, and by the time they finally settled it was too late.

Compounded errors

The Red Bulls are notoriously difficult to play against. Going behind early makes it even tougher. Mohammed Sofo's seventh-minute goal was the result of several individual errors from Nashville, each building on the other to allow an incredibly preventable goal.
