Huntsville City FC's 2026 season came to an end on Sunday afternoon, losing 3-1 to Red Bull New York II in the Wild Card round.

Forward Zidane Yáñez opened the scoring just six minutes in, running onto a pinpoint pass from Moises Véliz and rounding the 'keeper to slot into an empty net.

However, the Red Bulls scored two goals in two minutes just before the half to take control of the match, and never let go. A 43rd minute strike from Mijahir Jiménez equalized, and Pedrinho Castro curled in a spectacular free kick in stoppage time to take the lead.

Huntsville pressed hard for an equalizer, throwing on leading scorers Malachi Molina and Maximus Ekk in search of a crucial goal. Véliz missed a good chance from close range, and Tanner Rosborough sealed the win for Red Bulls in the 89th minute.

Huntsville finish the 2026 season with a second-consecutive playoff appearance, ending the year with 12 wins, six draws, and 10 losses, outscoring their opponents 50-49.
