NASHVILLE, TN – Goalkeeper Will Mackay is set to join Nashville SC in 2027. The 18-year-old shotstopper was signed to a hybrid contract with Nashville and Huntsville City FC before the season, and Huntsville's year-end roster decisions confirm his move to the first team next season.

In 2026, Mackay made 22 appearances for Huntsville, keeping a club-record six clean sheets. A finalist for MLS NEXT Pro's Goalkeeper of the Year awards, Mackay appeared on the bench for Nashville via a short-term loan during the September international window.

Prior to signing with Huntsville, Mackay came through the Real Salt Lake academy, where he made 35 appearances for their MLS NEXT Pro side, making 66 saves and keeping seven clean sheets. On the international stage, he's represented the United States at the U15 and U17 levels.

With stalwart Joe Willis announcing his retirement following the 2026 season, Nashville's goalkeeper corps looks set for a shift. Dominican Republic international Xavier Valdez impressed in his two Leagues Cup appearances and should slot into the number two role if Nashville decide to pick up his option, leaving the door open for Mackay to fight for Nashville's third-choice role.
