Sam Surridge named to MLS Team of Matchday 20

Nashville SC attacker Sam Surridge has been named to the MLS Team of Matchday 20.

The striker scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 win against the New England Revolution on Wednesday night, taking the lead in the Golden Boot race with 15 goals.

With an additional three assists, Surridge leads MLS in goal contributions. After scoring six goals in Nashville's first 14 matches, the Englishman has found a rich vein of form. In the last five matches, he's bagged nine goals, with braces against Toronto and New York City.

With 15 league matches left to play, Surridge is just eight goals behind Hany Mukhtar's tally of 23 in 2022, a performance that earned him the MLS Golden Boot and still stands as the most goals ever scored in a single season for Nashville SC.
