Nashville SC trade defender Lukas MacNaughton to DC United

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC have traded center back Lukas MacNaughton to DC United, the club announced Wednesday. Nashville will receive $150,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money from the trade, as well as an additional $50,000 in 2026 GAM if MacNaughton reaches certain performance-based metrics.

MacNaughton, 30, joined Nashville SC in a trade from Toronto FC in April, 2023. Since joining the Coyotes, MacNaughton was a consistent presence in the lineup, making 34 appearances (29 starts) in his year-and-a-half with the club.

Unfortunately, MacNaughton missed almost the entirety of the 2024 season with a broken leg suffered against Inter Miami in April. Before the injury he had pushed past Jack Maher for a starting role in defense, but recovered in time to make a single two-minute cameo in the final match of Nashville’s season.
