NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC are loaning midfielder Charles-Émile Brunet to St. Louis City SC for the remainder of the 2026 MLS season, sources confirm to SixOneFive Soccer.
Brunet, 22, was signed in February after being selected with the 80th-overall pick of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. The CF Montréal academy product has made seven appearances for Nashville SC in all competitions this season, playing an additional six times for Huntsville City FC in MLS NEXT Pro.
Brunet has impressed in his limited minutes on the field. A solid technical player with good passing range, he's found himself stuck in a logjam in Nashville's midfield, behind players like Patrick Yazbek, Eddi Tagseth, Matt Corcoran, and Bryan Acosta. Nashville also brought in 21-year-old Senegal youth international Famara Camara this summer for a reported $2.5 million transfer fee, adding even more competition for minutes at one of the deepest positions in the squad.
In St. Louis, Brunet will reunite with head coach Yoann Damet, who was an academy coach for CF Montreal when Brunet was there as a youth player. Damet has established a possession-based style in his first season with the club, and Brunet will fight for minutes in a much more open St. Louis midfield.
UPDATED 11:00 am CT: Nashville SC have officially confirmed the loan. They'll receive $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM). As part of the move, St. Louis City have a purchase option for an undisclosed amount.
