Nashville SC's opponent for the US Open Cup Round of 16 has been confirmed. The Coyotes will travel to play Orlando City, who breezed past Tampa Bay Rowdies in a comfortable 5-0 win on Wednesday night.

Nashville won their Round of 32 match against Chattanooga Red Wolves on Tuesday, getting a 1-0 win at Geodis Park via a first-half goal from defender Josh Bauer.

The two sides already have history in the Open Cup. Nashville's deepest run in the tournament was ended in Orlando, with the Lions victorious in penalty kicks in their 2022 quarterfinal match. Nashville were minutes away from a huge win on the road when defender Rodrigo Schlegel pulled the hosts level in the 94th minute.

Substitute Sean Davis was sent off just 50 seconds into extra time, forcing Nashville to play down a man for 30 minutes before eventually losing in penalties. Orlando went on to win the tournament.

The two sides have played 14 times since Nashville's 2020 expansion year. Orlando hold the lead with six wins and five draws, while Nashville have won just three matches against Orlando. The matchups are consistently heated, and the intensity will certainly be raised a level in a knockout match.

The match is set to be played on either Tuesday, May 20, or Wednesday, May 21 at Orlando's Inter&Co Stadium. Final confirmation on date and time will be announced shortly.

UPDATE: Nashville SC's Round of 16 match against Orlando has been set for Wednesday, May 21 at Inter&Co Stadium. The match will kick off at 6:30 pm CT, and will be broadcast on Paramount+.
