Report: Cameron Lancaster To Return To Louisville

Casey Gower-Speedway Soccer

NASHVILLE, TN - Cameron Lancaster may be on his way out of Nashville. According to a report from The Beautiful Game Network, Lancaster will return to Louisville City FC for the 2020 season.

Lancaster spent four seasons in Louisville, where he won two USL Cups and set the USL Championship single season goal scoring record in 2018 with 26 goals. Lancaster joined Nashville ahead of the 2019 season on an MLS contract, but played just 824 minutes with a number of recurring injuries limiting his playing time.

A source confirmed to Speedway Soccer that Nashville have offered Lancaster to a number of USL clubs. He is expected to travel to Florida with Nashville before joining Louisville City, who will also be training at the IMG Academy in Bradenton.

We will continue to monitor this story and will update once confirmed.

UPDATED 02/04/20: The Athletic's Jeff Rueter has also confirmed the move, with Nashville set to pay a large portion of Lancaster's 2020 wage.
