NASHVILLE, TN – On Friday, Huntsville City FC announced the signing of defender Maikel Caicedo on a free transfer from LDU Quito in the top division of Ecuadorian soccer.
Caicedo, 20, joined Quito in 2024, and made two appearances on loan with Delfin SC in the 2025 season. Internationally, Caicedo has represented Ecuador at the youth levels, including making four appearances at the 2025 Conmebol U20 Championship.
Huntsville City are in 13th place in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference, with 25 points from their first 18 matches. They're three points out of the final playoff spot, looking to make the postseason for the second time in club history.
