NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC made their fourth addition of the summer transfer window, signing fullback Owen Presthus on loan from the Columbus Crew through the 2027 sprint season.
Nashville send the Crew an initial $50,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money, with another $50k in GAM possible if Presthus reaches certain performance-based incentives. Nashville also have the option to make the loan permanent.
Presthus, 20, signed a homegrown deal with the Crew in January after progressing through their academy. He has made a total of three appearances for the first team, logging an assist in a 4-1 win over One Knoxville SC in the US Open Cup earlier this year. At the MLS level, he started and played 60 minutes in a 3-2 loss to Red Bull New York earlier this year, and has otherwise been an unused substitute in nine matches.
The bulk of Presthus's professional action has come with Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, where he's logged seven goals and 10 assists in 64 appearances. He also scored a goal in six appearances on loan with Hartford Athletic last season in the USL Championship.
"Owen is a talented young player that we believe fits really well with what our group embodies on and off the field," said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs. "His versatility to be able to play on both the left and the right, as well as in defense and in midfield, along with his extensive experience already as both a professional and youth international, puts him in position to be a key contributor in our group as we continue to grow and build for the future."
Internationally, Presthus has played for the United States U20 and U19 teams. He's the latest in a string of USMNT youth internationals signed by Nashville, joining Matt Corcoran, Reed Baker-Whiting, and Chris Applewhite.
