Brian Schwake - 8.0

Brian Schwake had three saves throughout the match, and all three were crucial to Nashville earning the point. He deflected Lionel Messi's effort in the first half, then followed it with an incredible double save in the second.

He remains really good on the ball and reads the game well, going long when needed.

Andy Nájar - 8.0

A great game by Andy Nájar, who was Man of the Match in the first half. He was a nightmare for Miami defenders to deal with, and they often couldn't keep up. Once the game became a bit more transitional in the second half, he was less effective going forward, but still did his work defensively. Also, his over-the-top pass to assist on Surridge's first goal was great.

Jeisson Palacios - 9.0

In the words of head coach BJ Callaghan, "Jeisson was Man of the Match tonight." The Colombian was extremely alert and intercepted many Miami attacks before they materialized. He also had an incredible intervention to deny what was a sure goal in the second half.

Maxwell Woledzi - 7.0

Maxwell Woledzi didn't have his usual impact. However, he was still solid for Nashville at the back. The yellow card he received early in the game seems to have limited some of the risks he usually takes. Incredibly, that's the first booking he's picked up in nearly 3,150 minutes in a Nashville shirt.

Reed Baker-Whiting - 5.0

It was a rough shift for Reed Baker-Whiting, who seemed to switch off at a few important moments of the game. He gave the ball away a couple of times and was not a factor going forward, which is unusual for him. The defender also scored an own goal, bringing Miami back into the game.

Matt Corcoran - 6.0

Matt Corcoran mostly did well off the ball defensively. He probably should've closed Messi down faster for Miami's second goal. To be fair, not many players other than Messi can operate in that tight of a space and still score.

He was very secure on the ball, but should've probably taken a few more risks. With Miami leaving space behind, he could've showcased more of his long-range passing.

Patrick Yazbek did well on both sides of the ball, but could've been more effective going forward. He did occupy the right areas in midfield and cover when needed. He's clearly not back to 100% match sharpness from his injury.

A meat-and-potatoes shift for Alex Muyl, who spent most of his time on the pitch chasing Miami players in an attempt to force a mistake. His touches were limited, but he connected on all eight of his passing attempts. He took the brunt of Miami's heavy challenges and coped with the physical demands of the game. This was the right type of game for him.

Cristian Espinoza - 5.5

Cristian Espinoza worked tirelessly on the right side, but he uncharacteristically didn't have enough of an impact on the game. While his runs helped tire the Miami defense, his standards are usually much higher.

Hany Mukhtar worked well off the ball with his pressing and counter-pressing, but could've been better on the ball. At times, he held on to the ball a bit too long and missed a few easy passes. He had a couple of good looks in the box, but Miami defenders were there to make sure nothing untoward happened.

Sam Surridge - 8.0

It's weird to say Sam Surridge was limited in a game where he scored a brace. However, for most of the game, his impact came from his off-the-ball runs and closing down defenders.

He was at the right place at the right time for both of his goals and reaped the rewards of that. He should've scored the final chance he had and put Nashville ahead.

Elias Saad positively impacted the game with his runs and dynamic movement. The more transitional state of the game when he entered helped showcase his skill on the ball.

Eddi Tagseth continued the work of the previous midfielders, but brought fresh legs and rapidness. He connected on all of his passes and did what was needed to cover as much ground as possible. Dan Lovitz came in for a struggling Baker-Whiting and tried to stabilize things at the back for Nashville. He was mostly successful defensively and picked out a fantastic pass for Shak Mohammed in the lead-up to Surridge's goal.
