After officially clinching the Supporters' Shield, the Boys In Gold return to Geodis Park tonight. They'll take on the Philadelphia Union, looking to get closer to the single-season points record against a red-hot team.

With 70 points and three matches left to play, the 'Yotes are just five points shy of the all-time record. One more win at Geodis Park would also make them the best home team in MLS history. Both of these are significant milestones for the club.

Philadelphia snapshot
The Union have been one of the most in-form teams in MLS. After firing Bradley Carnell just before the World Cup break, they've shot up towards the top of the table under interim coach Ryan Richter. The former Union 2 head coach quickly figured out how to get the most out of this squad, and has pulled them from 14th in the East into sixth place, and fighting for a top four spot.

Crucial to their success has been a breakout season from Cavan Sullivan. The 17-year-old has been one of the most hyped players in American soccer history, and he's backed it up. He's been legitimately one of the most dangerous attackers in MLS since the World Cup, logging an incredible seven goals and 14 assists in just over 1,700 minutes this year.
"Whether it is a skill I did not realize he had, a goal I did not think he could score, or an offensive or defensive contribution I did not expect him to make, he consistently finds ways to surprise us," Union beat writer José Nuñez said. "At his age, he has been an absolute treat to watch. He has more than lived up to the hype surrounding him."
Unfortunately for the Union, Sullivan will miss the match with a knock suffered against Charlotte. He missed their match against New England Revolution on Saturday, and his absence contributed to their first loss in league play since May 24.
Even worse for the Union, Milan Iloski and Bruno Damiani, their two leading scorers, are out with injury and suspension, respectively. The trio has scored a whopping 62% of the Union's total goals this season, giving them a huge uphill battle on the road against the league's best defense.

Nashville SC snapshot
With the Supporters' Shield in the bag, Nashville SC aren't content. They're pushing for the single-season points record and looking to close out the year in strong form. Having a full two weeks between the end of the regular season and the beginning of the playoffs means they won't have to worry about resting players to stay fresh for the postseason, either.
At this point, there's not a ton that needs to be analyzed for Nashville. As Matt Doyle explained on the latest episode of Soccerwise, it's almost boring how good Nashville have been. They can certainly play incredibly attractive soccer, but they're also just ruthlessly efficient and get the job done methodically at home. Their tactics are fully set, and they simply play better soccer than their opponents.
With a completely healthy squad, Nashville will go all out for their 15th home win of the year.
