NASHVILLE, TN – Right back Andy Nájar has signed a new contract with Nashville SC, sources confirm to SixOneFive Soccer. The deal will make the 33-year-old one of the highest-paid fullbacks in MLS, and will keep him in Music City through the 2027-28 season, with a further option for 2028-29. The Athletic's Tom Bogert was first to report.

Since signing with Nashville ahead of the 2025 season, Nájar has been one of the team's most important players and among the best in MLS, and was named to the MLS All-Star team in 2025 and 2026.

In 2026, Nájar has logged three goals and nine assists in 40 appearances, the fourth-most for any Nashville player. Since joining the club, his 19 assists lead the club and are the fifth-most in club history.

Nájar, who will turn 34 in March, is the third-oldest player on Nashville's roster, but has managed to stay incredibly healthy over the last two seasons. Across the last two seasons, he has played 66% of potential minutes in all competitions, missing just two matches with injury. His performances over the last two seasons have garnered interest from Europe, including a potential return to Anderlecht in Belgium, where Nájar played from 2013-2020.

Locking down Nájar through the first full season under the new fall-to-spring format with an option for the following year is an absolute no-brainer from Nashville's perspective, while deservingly rewarding one of the most productive players in MLS.
